Costa Rica, July 2023

Thank you for all the birthday wishes. It’s been a whirlwind few days and I’ll try to recap here.

We arrived on Friday at 1pm exhausted and hot. The 95 degrees and humidity isn’t a joke. We arrived at the resort via private transfer (thank you Frank the Tank Tours) and since our room wasn’t quite ready, we ate lunch.

After lunch, we were able to check in and then we crashed. Later we had dinner and just relaxed in our room. It’s unfortunate that the mosquitoes are so bad and it’s so hot (even at 10pm) because it’s not comfortable sitting outside on the patio listening to the ocean.

July 22: Two days to go

2, the number of sons I am blessed with

On Saturday we went on a full 10 hour tour of the country. We went to a Beautiful waterfall, went to a natural mud bath and hot springs, went horseback riding up the volcano, saw some sloths in the rainforest, and capped our day visiting a coffee bean plantation. Our tour guide was amazing and I highly recommend using this company.

July 23: One day to go

1, the number of daughters I am blessed with

On Sunday, we spent the entire day in the salt water pool, just talking and enjoying each other’s company. Sharing this time with sophia has been absolutely priceless. It is only appropriate that my countdown was about her The pool was amazing. We ate lunch at the swim up bar and enjoyed drinking the rainbow in cocktails.

July 24: It’s my birthday!

Today, we were supposed to go to Nicaragua but the heat is insane so we changed our plans and went on a beaches and villages tour. We hit several beaches including Tamarindo and Flamingo (Linda Carter has a house there) and had fresh red snapper for lunch. We then went to dinner for my birthday (thank you Jay) and had sushi, hummus, and bruschetta. It was a great way to spend my birthday and only would have been better if Henry and Scott had been able to join us. And maybe Jeremy too

Tomorrow, we have kayaking and more pool time on our agenda.

Enjoy the photo dump from our trip so far
