Belize, June 2024
What started as a trip of recovery ended as a trip of learning and conquering.
The jungle - makes the bugs and 3 am howler monkey calls worth it.
The sand flies - the pain from the bites are real. Huge thank you to the family from Vegas for sharing anti-itch and anti-bacterial ointments. Note to self: pack a first aid kit for Peru
Xunantunich - 130 ft to the top, with steep stone staircases to the top of the pyramid, which offers panoramic views of the Cayo District, Guatemala, and the Mopan River. So grateful that I didn’t chicken out and went to the top! The views were stunning. Possible motivation for the next couple of trips…
The crystal clear blue sea - the water that I’ve been looking my whole life for.
The sunsets - seeing that the world is so much bigger than us
The Belizean people - amazing hospitality. I could see myself calling home at some point
